FRIDA is an infrared imager and integral field spectrograph for the adaptive-optics focus of the Gran Telescopio Canarias.

FRIDA will offer

FRIDA is being built by a team of scientists and engineers from a consortium of institutions in Mexico, Spain, the United States of America, and France lead by the Instituto de Astronomía of the UNAM. The principal investigator is Dr. José Alberto López.

This is the public web site for FRIDA.

We had a successful Preliminary Design Review (PDR) in August 2007 and a sucessful Critical Design Review (CDR) in September 2011. We expected to commission the instrument in 2014.
