1) The submission process

The submission is a two-step process. After the text is entered, press the "Preview" button. You will then see a new screen with the text formatted exactly as it will appear on our website. At this point, nothing has been submitted yet. If changes are required, hit the "Back" button, and modify as desired. Then press "Preview" again. Once you are happy with the appearance, press "Submit". Once the text has been submitted, no changes can be made any longer. If you must change your submission, you should contact the webmaster.

Your submitted abstract will be immediately accessible on the website. It will also be sent to all subscribers to the abstract email service. Note that this subscription is independent of the Massive Star Newsletter subscription.

When the next Massive Star Newsletter is compiled, your abstract will automatically be included in the distribution. There is no need to email your abstract to the Newsletter editor.

2) What can be submitted

We encourage any submission of interest to the Massive Star community. Apart from refereed and unrefereed papers, we particularly welcome abstracts of Ph.D. theses, conference announcements, or job advertisements. While the text input boxes are tailored to entering author and manuscript information, it should be obvious how to use them for other submissions.

3) The formatting process

You may enter your abstract in any text based format, including symbols used by html. Our abstract website does not do any processing prior to posting the submissions. Therefore your abstract will have the same appearance as an abstract on astro-ph.

4) Help on individual input fields

Code for submission (mandatory) - Type in the code (in correct upper/lower case format) that you received in the email announcing the newsletter issues or send an email to the webmaster, web.wgms AT googlemail.com, to get it.

Title (mandatory) - enter the manuscript title or the name of a conference, etc.

Author(s) (mandatory) - enter the author(s) or the conference organizer. If more than author from different institutions are listed, use this scheme: Author1$^1$, Author2$^1$, and Author3$^2$ will go into the Author input field. See the Help for Affiliation for the corresponding entry in that box. If you prefer not to use LaTex, replace the "$^1$" by " (1)".

Affiliation (mandatory) - enter the affiliation(s) of the author(s) listed under Author(s). For multi-author/multi-affiliation submissions, use "1 - Affiliation1; 2 - Affiliation2" to refer to the authors used in the example under Author(s).

Abstract (mandatory) - enter your abstract. If you use a carriage return at the end of a line, the following word will be on a new line in the formatted text. If you prefer your text to be justified, do not use a carriage return. Paragraphs can be separated by two carriage returns.

Reference (mandatory) - enter the reference of your publication, such as ApJ, 612 (in press). If this is a conference announcement, enter time and location. Also, select one of the check boxes to indicate the type of publication. If this is not a manuscript submission, check "Other".

Weblink (optional) - enter a link to the full paper or any web address that is related to this submission. If your personal website provides additional information, you may want to give the link here.

Comments (optional) - enter any comments you wish to add.

Reply email (mandatory) - enter a valid email address. You will receive a confirmation to this email after a successful submission.

Subscription (optional) - check this box to add your supplied email address to the notification email list. This subscription is independent of your Massive Star Newsletter subscription. By checking the box you will receive copies of all submitted abstracts.
