Astrophysicist & Researcher

Dr. Alejandro Cruz Osorio

am a theoretical physicist specializing in relativistic astrophysics. I completed my undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD studies at UMSNH, followed by postdoctoral positions at IA-UNAM, the University of Valencia, and Goethe University Frankfurt. I am currently an Associate Researcher at the Institute of Astronomy at UNAM and a member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers. I also work within the Event Horizon Telescope collaboration, contributing to theoretical modeling and simulations of black hole shadows. My research focuses on compact objects, accretion processes, relativistic jets, scalar dark matter, and high-energy electromagnetic emission within the framework of general relativity.
