Venue
The meeting will take place within the main campus of the "Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico" (UNAM) in the south of Mexico City.
Specifically, it will be held at the "Vivero Alto, Unidad de Seminarios Dr. Ignacio Chávez", this is a part of the large ecologic reserve of the University, and represents one of the important "lungs" of the Mexico City. It is also close to many areas of interest, including "Cuicuilco", the oldest pre-Columbian archeological site in the valley of Mexico, which was buried by lava of a volcanic eruption.
Construction of the Campus of Ciudad Universitaria
The first plans for an all-embracing “University City” (Ciudad Universitaria) campus can be found in a thesis presented by architecture students in 1929. These plans called for the University to be built on a site in the south of the city known as Huipilco. It was not until 1945, however, that the appropriations act regarding the “foundation and construction of Ciudad Universitaria was finally decreed.
